Lisa Snead

Lisa Snead represents clients on civil rights, wrongful death, and personal injury cases in federal and Texas courts.

Lisa graduated cum laude from The College of William & Mary in 2006 and magna cum laude from The University of Texas School of Law in 2009. Upon graduating from UT Law, she received a Skadden Foundation Fellowship to represent domestic violence survivors with disabilities at Disability Rights Texas (DRTx). When her fellowship ended in 2011, Lisa continued representing people with disabilities at DRTx, first as a staff attorney and then as a litigation attorney for the Institutional Rights and Civil Liberties Team. As an attorney on the Institutional Rights and Civil Liberties Team, Lisa primarily represented people with intellectual disabilities residing in large, state-run institutions and individuals with mental illness in jails, psychiatric facilities, and the community who were subject to abuse, neglect, and civil rights violations.

In 2023, Lisa joined Edwards Law, where she continues to champion the values of civil rights and equal justice under the law. She is admitted to practice law in the State of Texas, all United States District Courts sitting in Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

When she isn’t drafting briefs, Lisa enjoys reading, rooting for the Red Sox, hiking in Texas state parks with her husband Michael, and spending time with their rescue dogs, Roxy and Boo Radley.
